Dr. Travis Esau developed and evaluated smart sprayer for his thesis entitled, 鈥淪mart sprayer for spot application of agro-chemical in wild blueberry fields.鈥 Instead of uniformly applying herbicides, the cameras pick up where the target weeds are in the fields.
鈥淚f it鈥檚 a fungicide, the nozzles shut-off in bare-spot areas,鈥 says Travis. 鈥淚t makes for substantial agrochemical savings and it鈥檚 better for the environment.鈥
Congratulations Travis!
