Pre-Engineering Studies

Oklahoma City University is proud to partner with Washington University in St. Louis to offer this 鈥�3+2鈥� dual-degree program. Students will complete three years of a liberal arts foundation along with rigorous science and math courses at Oklahoma City University.

Qualified students can then transfer to Washington University in St. Louis to complete two years of engineering coursework. These students will earn two undergraduate degrees: a B.S. in Pre-Engineering Studies degree from OCU and a B.S. in Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis.

Admission Requirements

In order to be admitted unconditionally into OCU鈥檚 program, students must have:

  • ACT Science and Math scores of at least 27 (or SAT Math score of 640), or
  • demonstrated proficiency in high school calculus.

Transfer Requirements

In order to qualify to transfer to Washington University in St. Louis, students must:

  • be able to transfer at least 90 credit hours,
  • earn a minimum GPA of 3.25 overall and 3.25 in math and science courses, and
  • be recommended by OCU鈥檚 Pre-Engineering program liaison.

All pre-engineering studies majors complete the following 38 credit hours of core coursework:
