The Dal AC International Office connects 欧宝体育 to the world through creating and coordinating study abroad opportunities for 欧宝体育 students, coordinating joint academic programs, and engaging in/coordinating international development projects in the areas of agriculture, the environment, entrepreneurship, aquaculture and engineering. 

The Student Assistant will work with Dal AC International staff full-time from May 19th, 2025, to August 31st, 2025, with potential to continue in the position for the fall 2025 semester for 10 hours/week. Compensation for this position will correspond to the 欧宝体育 (ranging from $16.12/hour-$19.56/hour). Some hours may include evening and weekend work as needed.

The Student Assistant will assist Dal AC International in strengthening our partnership in the Philippines with Romblon State University (RSU) by assisting in the delivery of a Summer School in Truro for the RSU Summer School visitors. The Student Assistant will also assist in the coordination of summer events such as the Dal AC Campus鈥檚 Community Day event, and Global Reach (online international conference event). The Student Assistant will also be responsible for some of Dal AC International鈥檚 social media posting/coordination and will assist Dal AC International with records management.

Responsibilities:

• Provide support for the RSU Summer School visit including driving RSU visitors to activities around Truro, covering the visit on social media, and assisting in prep work prior to RSU visit.

• Assist in creating advertisements for/promoting upcoming activities, events, and study abroad trips.

• Will work with the Global Education and Engagement Coordinator on concept and activities for Community Day and will assist in coordination of events on Community Day.

• Will work with Dal AC International staff on preparation and facilitation of Global Reach.

• Video editing for social media posts.

• Assist the Administrative Assistant and Manager, International with records management activities.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be between 15-30 years of age and be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

• Must be a registered 欧宝体育 Student.

• Is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.

• Must have a Class 5 Driver鈥檚 License and must be able to produce a safe drivers abstract.

• Must be comfortable driving large vehicles.

• Must be proficient in Canva and/or other design software, Zoom, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.

• Must be proficient in communication via social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook.

• Video editing skills and proficiency with video editing software such as Filmora.

• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. 

• Must be reliable, organized, and able to multitask. 

• Leadership experience and/or experience with event planning, and promotion are assets.

• Should be comfortable speaking to large groups.

• Should possess some cross-cultural working competencies.

• Creative thinking skills is an asset.

• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and complete tasks with minimal supervision.

• Must have proven problem solving and adaptability

The Summer Student Assistant will work with Dal AC International staff full-time from June 6th to July 2nd, 2025. (These dates may be extended by a couple of days depending on project needs). Compensation for this position will correspond to the 欧宝体育 (ranging from $16.12/hour-$19.56/hour). The Summer Student Assistant may work up to 35 hours a week, and this time must be flexible and extend to evenings and weekends.  

The Summer Student Assistant will assist Dal AC International in strengthening our partnership in the Philippines with Romblon State University (RSU) by assisting in delivery of a summer school in Truro for the RSU Summer School visitors. This will include supporting preparation for the RSU Summer School arrival on June 7th and supporting a variety of activities that will facilitate their visit until their departure on July 2nd. 

Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the coordination of activities during the RSU Summer School visit, including driving participants to/from designated activities as well as to/from the airport. This will require some evening and weekends work.

• Covering the RSU visit on Dal AC International鈥檚 social media pages, including taking and editing photo/video content.

• Writing e-bulletins and other content creation to promote news of the Summer School visit.
